Today I was interviewed by a fourth grader on changes and needs as I get older. At first I couldn’t think how to answer many of his questions as I haven’t had any serious age issues, but it occurred to me that the real importance of that interview was its teaching the fourth grader to develop empathy for the elderly. The class is supposed to come up with ideas for machines or devices that would help people as their physical abilities decline. That’s creative for ten year olds.
